Picture this: It’s a dreary morning at the start of February as you drag yourself from the warmth of your bed to start your working day. Your head is clouded with thoughts and lists and worries. As you stir your tea the postman arrives and you suddenly light up. You remember that amongst the phone bills and bank statements there could be something else; a flash of colour, a titillating visual dance, a whimsical scene of subversive action. Yes, it could just be the next chapter in the story that is In Correspondence.
Deep down it’s part of our essence of being, we crave it; the act of writing and sending, receiving and reading. It’s both intimate and exciting, staving off opening until after work or getting settled for the story, like sitting down to a good book. Perhaps it’s just knowing that somebody somewhere has taken the time to package up something, with thought and consideration and that they’ve done that just for you.

In Correspondence is a year long subscription service which sees participants around the world receive a postcard sized print at the beginning of each month, signed and editioned by the artist, with an image depicting a scene which, when put together, forms a story without words.
Following an electric response from the first series, which ran from August 2018 to July 2019, preparations for the next series are now underway and the subscription is now open as we invite you to embark on another year long journey, with the first postcard due for release in January 2020.
The last subscription proved to be a joy for those who not only bought the series on behalf of themselves, but also for friends and family members, as a way to bring to life each month an ongoing gift.

Tom has always been an avid collector of postcards and, as a habitual writer of letters, he is no stranger to the joys of doing things the old fashioned way, with time and consideration, revelling in both the joy of sending and receiving hand fashioned post.
As an artist he primarily works as a printmaker to construct imagined visual narratives using traditional woodblock techniques. Sourcing ideas from his interests in literature and photography, theatre and storytelling, he amalgamates these references with the aim of constructing what he would consider pictorial poems with a dream-like quality, that focuses on a tension or emotion within the work through the objects or people represented.
For as long as I can remember I’ve always loved sending letters, drawings, cards and ephemera to whoever would take it and whoever wouldn’t. Stuffing old coins or feathers I’d found into an envelopes along with my thoughts for the day, or a poem I’d read, a quote I liked, the weather outside, the colour of the sea… all bundled up and off to a friend on another shore. And I also loved waiting to see if I’d get something back.
Each subscription runs for twelve consecutive months with a different artwork in the form of a limited edition screen print, taken from an original woodcut image, conceived and printed by the artist.
The postcard sized print is signed, numbered and dated on the reverse, resulting in a collection of unique artworks with the story running chronologically over the year.
Subscriptions are limited to the amount of prints in the edition and the next series will begin on 1 January 2020, making it the perfect Christmas gift to last the whole year.
Join in two easy steps: choose your preferred form of payment and tell us to whom shall we send the postcards. Payment is secure and simple. We partnered with PayPal to offer a seamless shopping experience.
Indulge in the art of anticipation and the beauty of surprise. An original, limited-edition artwork is going to find its way to your letterbox every month. How exciting!
They say, the whole is often greater than sum of its parts. Hang your new 12-piece art collection around the house, one by one, or fill up the entire wall with it. Either way, this story without words unfolds in front of your eyes again and again. Did you notice that curious little detail in July’s postcard?
